On 3 June 2021, a court trial in the politically motivated criminal case under Article 405 Part 1 and 2 (“organisation and participation in the activities of an extremist organisation”) against civil activist Aidar SYZDYKOV took place.
⠀
Judge Nazgul BAPAKOVA illegally sentenced Aidar SYZDYKOV to 3 years of restriction of liberty, a 5-year ban on social and political activities (including publications on social networks), and imposed 100 hours of community works and a forced payment of 27780 tenge ($65).
⠀
Prosecutor: IGENOV Madiyar.
⠀
On 3 June, Aidar SYZDYKOV was released from a pre-trial detention facility after 3 months of detention.
⠀
Aidar SYZDYKOV is being prosecuted for:
– calls for participation and participation in peaceful protests, subbotages (evening marchse);
– calls to unite and create cells (groups of like-minded persons) of the opposition movement “DCK”;
– publication on Facebook: “A package of demands of the DCK in support of the population and businesses”;
– A repost of a publication by opposition politician Mukhtar ABLYAZOV calling for participation in a peaceful, authorised protest in Almaty on 31 October 2020.
At the request of the prosecutor, the judge issued a politically motivated private ruling against Aidar SYZDKOV’S lawyer, M.R. DOSKARAYEV, for questioning the decisions of the Yesil court to ban the opposition movements “Koshe Partiyasy” and “DCK”.
⠀
The decisions of the Yesil court to ban the “DCK” and “Koshe Partiyasy” are politically motivated, they have not been published.
⠀
Lawyer M.R. DOSKARAYEV risks losing his license for honestly defending the rights of his client.
