1) On 16 April 2021 human rights defenders of the human rights movement “Femina Virtute”- #DZHANZAKOVA Sholpan and #TURDIYEVA Ulbolsyn, received a refusal from the Munaily district Akimat to hold a peaceful picket in response to the notification submitted by them.
The activists submitted a notification to hold a peaceful picket on 20 April 2021.
The reason for the refusal was “quarantine”.
The politically motivated refusal was signed by some – #OTEGENOV A. (this employee is not listed on Akimat’s website).
2) On 15 April 2021 a refusal to hold a peaceful protest was issued by the Department of Internal Policy and Youth Affairs of Shymkent city Akimat in response to the notification submitted by civil and politically persecuted activists #ASHTAYEV Zhanmurat and #FAIZULLAYEV Yerlan.
They submitted a notification to hold a peaceful protest on 1 May 2021.
The reason for the refusal was “quarantine”.
The politically motivated refusal was signed by Madi #MANATBEKULY (date of birth: 25 May 1978), Acting Head of the Department of Internal Policy and Youth Affairs of the Shymkent City Akimat.
These politically motivated refusals to hold peaceful protests, marches and pickets are the 69th and 70th refusal (respectively) (in 20 cities and localities) recorded by the human rights monitoring group ActivistsNotExtremists, in the period from 30 July 2020 to 17 April 2021. Out of 70 refusals – 39 of them were issued in 2021.
What did Tokayev say about “notification” rallies? And how then was Zhanbolat Mamay granted permission to hold a rally in Almaty during the quarantine on 27 March 2021?
