On 22 September, a civil activist Kalasov Askar was arbitrarily detained

On 22 September, a civil activist Askar #KALASOV was arbitrarily detained and later taken to the police station for filming live on Facebook a woman picketing in a street in Aktobe.

According to the activist himself, he was walking past the regional Akimat (local executive body) and saw a woman picketing and decided to film her.
A police officer, Senior Lieutenant #BAIZHANOV, detained the activist and brought him to the Zavodsky Police Department, where Askar was held for more than 3 hours.
During the detention the activist’s phone was confiscated. After the activist was released, he discovered that his phone had been hacked. According to the activist, social networks and messengers had been deleted from his phone.
It should be reminded that Askar KALASOV is being persecuted by the Kazakhstani authorities for political reasons:
– For calling for participation in protests and for allegedly calling for a violent takeover of power;
– For campaigning and handing out leaflets calling to vote for the registered Akzhol party in parliamentary elections on 10 January 2021.
On 4 August, Askar was illegally sentenced to 2 years of restriction of liberty on politically motivated charges under Article 405 Part 2 (“participation in an extremist organisation”
