But that wasn’t enough for the leader of the nation and he ordered the creation of the “AR-BEDEL” foundation, which would monitor citizens’ opinions about Nazarbayev on social media and in the traditional media.

The cause for concern on the part of Nazarbayev and his karabets was a re-post on Facebook which read: “Kazakhstan is a big zone – NurLag ( Nursultan’s Camp – referring to forced labour camps which were popular in the Soviet Union)! The Pahan (gangland boss) of the zone is Nazarbayev!”.
The so-called human rights foundation “AR-BEDEL”, headed by #YERMEK Yerzat Yerzanuly, came out in defence of Nazarbayev. In fact, under the guise of human rights activities, YERMEK Yerzat is engaged in censorship and seeks out any posts in social networks that threaten “Yelbasy’s good name”. (Yelbasy – title “leader of the nation”).
